Butu Galcha was born and raised in Idedo, Yirgacheffe. She has dedicated her entire life to coffee farming. She began working alongside her father on his coffee farm early on, learning the intricacies of the trade.

In 2022, her dedication and expertise were recognised when she was the 16th winner in the Ethiopia Cup of Excellence competition.

Family plays an integral role in Butu’s coffee enterprise. Butu is not only a skilled coffee farmer, but also a loving mother of six children, who help her on the farm. The family’s dedication to coffee farming spans generations with a deep-rooted commitment to cultivating the finest coffee. Their collective expertise, shared values, and inter-generational collaboration create a strong foundation for the success of their farm.
